The United States is paying homage to the Mille Miglia with an new race that is being organized as an American tribute to the "world’s greatest road race". From August 14 to 17, on a route that is extraordinarily panoramic and "technically" varied, 300 classic cars built from between 1927 and 1957, will challenge each other in a race that celebrates the spirit of the Mille Miglia. The "1,000 miles" of the Tribute will wind down the roads of California, along the coast and Napa Valley, passing the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, then Santa Barbara, to return to the starting point, Monterey. The event opens the season dedicated to historic car events in the U.S. which features the Pebble Beach Concours Elegance and the Historic Automotive weekend. This is the first time a Mille Miglia tribute race will be held in the United States, but it is already showing great promise in attracting American car fans, classic cars fans, and Mille Miglia appassionati.
