If you’ve ever had your heart skip a beat at the sight of a VW Beetle, then brace yourself —  Clarens will be buzzing with 250+ iconic Bugs, Kombis, Buggies, and classic VWs arriving from every province of South Africa!

And of course our Clarens local and Fan Favourite “Delilah” the dreamer- the most Gypsy-fied VW Autovilla that you have ever seen, will be there in all her pink glory!

Please line the roadsides and give the BeetleManiacs a warm Clarens welcome – the energy, colour, and nostalgia are absolutely electric!

On Friday, 3 October, convoys from Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban, Bloem, Cape Town, and beyond will roll into Clarens between 1pm and 2pm.

These cars have been polished and tuned to perfection by their proud owners, and now they’re ready to show off!

Here are the BEST viewing spots to welcome them:

• Andes Café entrance – wave at the Joburg & PTA convoy- best place to see the long convoy coming in over the hills.

• Mountain Monkey – Durban convoy arriving in style. Order a drink and a snack while you are there!

• Fouriesburg road – Bloemfontein & Cape Town convoys . Stop for a selfie at the #ilovefouriesburg yellow photo frame.

• Clarens entrance & around the Village Square – the grand arrival of ALL convoys

Saturday Highlights – 4 October

• 10am @ Mountain Monkey: All the VWs gather for the official judging. Only registered BeetleManiacs vehicles will be allowed in – spectators are kindly asked to stay behind the convoy and park on the roadside.

• 12:30pm – 1pm: Parade around the Clarens Square – the perfect chance to admire these retro beauties up close while enjoying our local shops, cafés, and restaurants.

• Evening: Private Hippie Bug Festival Party and prize giving. (registered members only).

Sunday – 5 October

Morning drive out to Golden Gate National Park – a rolling showcase of chrome and curves against the sandstone mountains.
