Reserved for sports and racing cars built before 1940, the Jacques Potherat Trophy celebrated its sixteenth edition on May 2, 3, and 4 in France.
The lineup was truly exceptional, featuring over fifteen Bugattis! There were also MGs, Amilcars, Morgans, Salmsons, Bentleys, Austins…Among the rarer marques, participants could admire a Vernon Derby, a Sénéchal, and even an ultra-rare four-wheeled D’Yrsan!
Once again, crews came from all over France as well as from Belgium, Switzerland, Germany — and even Japan!
This must-attend event on the vintage calendar remained anchored in the town of Villeneuve-lès-Avignon, a long-standing partner of the rally. Following a change in organization in 2024, Camille and Florent Bourges created a varied route infused with local charm.
The rally unfolded over three distinct routes to fully appreciate the diversity of the region. On Friday, a loop took participants through the heart of the Camargue, with stops at the Martini ranch and Château d'Espeyran.Saturday's route headed toward Vaison-la-Romaine, then on to Beaumes-de-Venise, famed for its characterful wines. On Sunday, the rally crossed “La Montagnette,” with a stop in Boulbon before continuing across the plains of the Gard, ending in spectacular fashion at the foot of the Pont du Gard!
See you in 2026!
