Check any websites for the best driving roads in the UK, and they will direct you to Wales; Scotland too, but Wales has as many fabulous roads and is more accessible from most of England and Europe. All serious car magazines take cars to Wales to test and photograph them - there's even a loop of roads in North Wales (which we will use) known as the Evo triangle after the magazine of that name. TV crews love Wales too: Top Gear often uses the roads of Wales as the ultimate test route for sports cars.

Welsh roads are not only quiet and enormous fun to drive (in any car), they also pass through some of the most beautiful scenery in the world - and, though noted for its wet weather at other times, in September when we will be there, Wales is often blessed with glorious, warm sunshine. Amidst thousands of square miles of stunning natural scenery, mountains and valleys, rivers, lakes and waterfalls, rolling hills and sharp escarpments, Wales is also home to what must surely be the greatest concentration of mediaeval castles for any comparable-sized country.

We start the 2010 MICRO MARATHON just outside Wales, on Sunday 5 September at the excellent

NATIONAL MICRO CAR RALLY, at the Three Counties Showground near Malvern, Worcestershire

The first day sees us climb into the Black Mountains to Brecon, staying in Brecon Castle itself.

Monday Sept 6 begins with the spectacular roads of Eppynt, heading north through the mountains of Powys to finish at the exclusive and beautifully located Lake Vyrnwy Hotel.

Tuesday Sept 7 takes in some of the best roads in Britain, through Berwyn and Clocaenog, taking in our first special test on the 1100m super-twisty kart circuit of Glan-y-gors, before we head to the north coast at Conwy, where we stay at the luxurious waterside Quay Hotel & Spa.

Wednesday Sept 8 goes overseas! Through the Cambrian mountains then over the Menai Straits to the island of Anglesey and a blast around Anglesey circuit (Trac Mon) courtesy of Tour Britannia rally which hits the island on the same day as us, returning for a night in Caernarfon, in the shadow of Wales' highest mountain, Mount Snowdon (3559ft).

Thursday Sept 9 changes the scenery for some beautiful coastal roads around the Lleyn peninsula, then into the Snowdonia National Park, through Gwynedd and past the glorious Cader Idris for a night on the central Welsh coast at Aberystwyth.

Friday Sept 10 takes in more of Wales' most challenging roads through the Cambrian mountains before the gentler Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, Britain's smallest cathedral city of St David's, Britain's historic Land Speed Record location of Pendine Sands, an evening Special Test on Wales' best known racetrack, Pembrey, and overnight at Carmarthen.

Saturday Sept 11, the final day, starts with a further circuit test on the challenging 1050m kart track of Llandow, then heads up into the Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains for a final dose of glorious roads and breathtaking scenery before a spectacular finish, hopefully in front of cheering crowds ...

The programme above is Provisional and subject to change. Throughout the rally, visits to castles, motor museums, ALL of Wales's race circuits and other places of interest are being arranged: WATCH THIS SPACE!!

SEVEN DAYS of rallying will leave you with great memories of the wonders of Wales - this is probably the most comprehensive touring/competitive event ever run in Wales and we guarantee you will be astounded - and will want to come back!

And the price for this week of wonders? We will bring you this event, including seven nights in top hotels for two people, ALL meals (breakfast, dinner, lunch) from dinner on Sept 5 to breakfast on Sept 12, plus entry to the National Microcar Rally and numerous other locations en route, towcar and trailer parking at the Three Counties Showground, mechanical back-up from our own recovery crew, rally plates, door stickers, route book, maps and much more, for just £2250, if paid by 31 January 2010.
