From 7 to 19 october, China will be the center of our attention.Indeed, the Classic Car Challenge China is organizing its 5th edition, and the driver team (Frederic Goblet et Denis De Wagheneire) of your favorite website has been asked to participate in order to bring their experience back to Europe and share their unforgettable memories...
In the last 30 years, China has achieved great economic progress and many people now have a better understanding of the “Oriental Magic”.
The Chinese automobile industry has also made remarkable progress since the 1980s, consequently, collecting historic vehicles has become more popular and the number of enthusiasts has grown. Classic Vehicle union of China (CVUC) is a national organization with over 400 members and a collection of about 1000 classic vehicles. It was founded in 2005 and its headquarters are located in Beijing. With strong support from Fédération Internationale des Véhicules Anciens (FIVA), and after two years of intense preparation, CVUC held the first edition of China Rally of International Classic Cars in 2011 along the golden route from Beijing to Shanghai.
Day 1 - Arrival in Beijing
Obviously stepping on a A380 with 500 passengers is already an experience in itself. We left Belgium and Amsterdam embarking for a 10hours very comfortable journey even in economy class...

Day 3 - Beijing - Yesanpo
This morning, when we left the hotel with a huge smile on our face knowing the rally would start and that all participants had a car to drive, the wind was blowing ice, and the sun was shining...
Day 4 : Yesanpo - Shijiazhuang
Today was the day of contrasts and heavy driving! 340 km in 8 hours, almost non stop ! We left Yesanpo with 10 degrees celsius temperature warmer, which made everybody very happy ! Under a beautiful sunshine, all the cars departed on time from the Yesanpo National Park after a short ceremony.
Day 5 : Shijiazhuang - Taian
Is it the jetlag or the general excitement of living a dream. who knows. We look at the window of our rooms on the 25th floor and we see a city of 10mio habitants, a small town waking up slowly, with sun starting to shine....
Day 6: a day off in Taian !
Today we get our well deserved day off. Perfect moment for a complete check-up of our cars: the mechanical team has hands full repairing and checking engines, brakes, water and oil levels etc. Meanwhile we are out to visit a magnific temple...
Day 7: Taian - Xuzhou
Cleaning up the dust on our hands and sunglasses, the Classic Car Passion.com team is getting settled in the Wyndham hotel, in Xuzhou, excited to arrived spot on time to tell you fresh their memories of the day.
Day 8 : Xuzhou - Yangzhou
Brutal alarm at 6:15, still sleepy we jump in the breakfast area. Same daily routine now. unpacking, packing, getting ready, charging the various equipments from phone, GPS tracking device to emergency phone... our starting time is 8h13'31"....let's get ready...
Day 9 : Yangzhou - Suzhou
Today, we cruised leaving the town of Yanghzou and it was the first time we felt like we could actually enjoy a day walking around the streets, loads of shops, smiling faces and loads of people but looking happy...
Day 10 : Suzhou - Shanghai
Saturday, our wake up call comes right on time, 7h00, the sun shines peacefully and the view of the room is stunning endless…
